Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets the rules for using index365 products and services. It is part of our Terms of Service.

Because our tools scan websites, the most important rule is simple: only scan what you are authorized to scan.

Authorized scanning only

You may submit a website, domain, or URL to our audit tools only if you own it or have explicit permission from the owner to scan it. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to scan any target you submit.

Scanning websites or systems you do not own or control, without authorization, is prohibited and may be illegal.

Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the services to:

  • Violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Scan, probe, or test systems you are not authorized to access.
  • Use audit results to attack, exploit, or gain unauthorized access to any system.
  • Distribute malware, or upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful.
  • Interfere with, overload, or disrupt our infrastructure or other users.
  • Circumvent rate limits, usage quotas, authentication, or other technical protections.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the services without our written permission.
  • Misrepresent your identity or your authorization to scan a target.

Not a penetration test

Our security-related audits check publicly visible signals only. They are not penetration tests and do not authorize you to perform intrusive testing against any system.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or take other action we consider appropriate. Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement.

Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is misusing our services, or you want to report a security concern, contact us through our contact form and select the security topic.

Changes to this policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
